Just like any spiritual practice, in which one must devote themselves wholeheartedly, the goal is to experience moments outside the realm of earthly constructs. Brian finds that kind of peace and balance in the ocean; as his daily ritual finds him at the edge of the great open expanse, first thing in the morning. He says, ‘once I finish that I feel alive, and ready to be a part of the world.” The ocean grounds him and steers his artistry in a more natural direction; whether it be using earth tones, nature based backdrops, or just the use of natural lighting, Brian sees the impact the ocean has immediately. Surfing has also taken Brian all over the world, as an avid traveler his destinations always include great surf spots. When not in the water, Brian spends a great deal of quality time with his best friend and dog, Hershey. For over ten years now, they have been an extension of each other. Brian describes him as, “Hershey dog, my son, my earth, my rain; he’s exactly where you don’t want him to be…always.” Family and friends are extremely important to Brian, as he makes a commitment to visit New Jersey, to spend time with his mom, brothers, and new niece. A kind and compassionate human being, Brian has been part of causes to help people in need, and on a daily basis goes out of his way to be courteous to others. He says, “if you do something small for someone else when it is least expected, it might not seem important to some, but to me and to the people that receive it, it’s huge.”
