To Dan Tai art is about sacrifice, of both the physical world as well as the spiritual one. He is driven to search for, in his words, “the pure essence of what art means to humanity.” As a percussionist and multi-instrumentalist, Dan Tai is trying to feed a “culturally starved society” while making sure his means are met. He feels deeply the connection that is created within the moment, and is most inspired by people who are moved by the music and in love with the art. It’s the no name musicians in small towns and villages around the world, the people who are hungry for it and live for it, that penetrate Dan Tai’s soul and inspire the most beauty from this talented individual. He also comments about how music has created some of the best relationships in his life. He says, “as musicians music is simply part of our souls.” Music is an industry that you can do a gig with someone you have never met, and end up friends for life. With joy in his voice, as if it were his own private joke, he says “what a great life I have.”

How true this is, the joy to watch you into your music and percussions was up lifting to my soul and it felt as if we had performed together previously, we are connected spiritually through our love and respect for our fellow musicians and through our Lord who gifted us with our talents.
