This year is an exciting one for Destani as she plans to head out on tour in Brazil with her a cappella group Slammin All-Body Band (www.myspace.com/slamminallbodyband). After a successful tour in NYC playing at Lincoln Center, the group prepares to share the stage with the 13 piece body group Barbatuques (www.myspace.com/barbatuques) at the International Body Music Festival in Sao Paulo. This amazing group employs clapping, stomping, and singing in combination with a huge group of people. It’s a perfect setting for Slammin to showcase their talents as the incorporate beat boxing and intricate vocal arrangements, singing everything from reggae and funk to jazz and soul. Destani’s role in the group brings in a soul vibe full of emotion and grace and it’s the passion shared for music at it’s bare bones that has made this group successful.
