There are few things in life that Eli is dedicated to like his family. Although difficult to always find the balance in life between family time and his own, Eli’s appreciation for quality time in all areas of his life has grown exponentially. He says that, “having a family creates clearly defined expectations of time.” With less hours in the day to be creative, he must focus intensely in those moments and bring a clear vision to the table. With a sense of urgency he describes providing for his family as, “practice time is over, the red light is on.” That kind of intensity has cultivated this artists’ ability to bring more to the music, as he describes becoming, “a better listener, and being more comfortable in the supporting role.” After years of hard work, both as a band leader and as a sideman, Eli’s life experience has led him to a place in which he, “would rather be the person making others sound better.” This kind of joy in giving selflessly is what makes Eli a great family man, and it’s through the devotion and love for his family that Eli has been able to reach even greater heights as a musician.
