Emile and Yonatan met in high school, but it wasn’t until after college that they began making music together. Early on Yonatan helped Emile with the fundamentals of recording, and quickly they were writing music together. Emile introduced Yonatan to Bryan Greenberg (www.myspace.com/bryangreenberg) and soon both of them were playing and working on Bryan’s first record “Waiting for Now” (itunes.apple.com/album/waiting-for-now/id250283567). Yonatan began playing on some of Emile’s productions, including a project with Vanessa Zarate (www.vanessazarate.com), one of the songs are posted below. With clearly defined roles, this duo has found the most success and joy in working together, first seen in the mixing process of Sahara Smith’s (www.myspace.com/saharasmithmusic) record and later on Erin Ivey’s (www.myspace.com/erinivey) record. They found a groove in which Emile would put up a mix, and according to him Yonatan would come in, “with precision, and clear out unwanted frequencies as well as adding his own vibe,” always complementing the world that Emile had created. He describes it as, “Yonatan surgically repairs some of the wild things that I do.” This juxtaposition of different talents and experience creates a richness to the productions that they work on together, and an energy in the studio that is infectious.
