Emile Kelman – Records

Emile Kelman – Records

For the past eight years Emile has been working under legendary producer T Bone Burnett (www.tboneburnett.com/), first as an assistant engineer, and currently has been primed for the producer’s chair. Emile’s first major release, a project shepherded by T Bone, is a record with a young artist out of Austin, TX, named Sahara Smith (www.myspace.com/saharasmithmusic). The record has a vintage sound with a timeless feel, achieved partly by the personnel appearing on the record, include drummer Jay Bellerose (www.moderndrummer.com/updatefull/200001123/Jay%20Bellerose), whose playing really sets the foundation for the music. Also it was Mike Piersante’s (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Piersante) engineering expertise that helped capture that signature sound Emile was looking for. Another artist he is working with is singer/songwriter/guitar player and long time T Bone Burnett collaborator David Poe (www.myspace.com/davidpoe). Emile describes him as, “a seasoned veteran performer, who is both cynical and comical while confident and in command of his voice.” Emile finds time to develop up-and-coming artists including Brooklyn based singer/songwriter/pianist Doran Danoff (myspace.com/dorandanoff). He describes Doran’s lyrics as “profound and literature like.” The record is not only a testament to Emile’s production capabilities, but also his engineering skills, as he both recorded and mixed the project as well.
